Designer Notes - with Juliette and Alice

As we step into Autumn, on the brink of our second collection of the year, we decided to ask Juliette and Alice (Art Direction and Design Lead) about their favourite pieces, design inspirations, and personal style notes from across the first two collections of 2024.

Explore their favourite pieces with us, below.

“This was a collection that grew from those rich wintery tones we all know and love. We were excited to play with a darker, more textural, palette. It was an opportunity to design with depth and layers.

We thought about how people actually wear their clothing during winter – what impulses do we have? how do we like to accessorise and layer? What colours speak to us in the cooler months?” - JH & AF

“We had been reflecting on past seasons of JH a bit recently, which lent itself to the reimagining of some past favourites. As I was looking through the JH archives I stumbled on one of my favourite pieces I’ve designed – the Jade Jumpsuit. I simply had to bring it back. It’s a staple for me.” – JH

“Just because it’s heading into winter doesn’t mean we all need to wear black. The Mantelle is timeless, chic, and can dress up any outfit. The Sparkle Suiting adds a fun element of interest to a classic colour” – AF

"Moody and rich – this print was the starting point for our collection, everything grew from here. I love the depth Dahlia Silk brings to the collection, and the Tuscany Dress is a quintessential autumnal dress - I couldn’t believe we hadn’t already designed it.” - JH

“A cozy merino turtleneck is my definition of ultimate comfort” – JH (Item pictured: Agnetha Merino Polo)

"Refined, elegant, classic, and yet still seamlessly fits in with the modern wardrobe - a forever piece.” – AF (Item pictured: Twin Cardi)

"I was struck by this fabric, the way it catches the light feels so special.” – JH (Item pictured: Sevilla Dress)

“Houndstooth is one of my favourite patterns – I have a suspicion these colourful Clifford Coats are going to be very popular. – AF

“The chocolate Wool Stretch Suiting was a must-have for me. I love pieces that can be easily styled for formal and casual occasions.” – AF

"An instant classic - the fabric was sourced from Italy… enough said.” – AF (Item pictured: Dana Trench)

“Smooth and luxurious – the fluid drape of the Pia Pant is one of my favourites.” - JH
